Over the last few months, we have been gathering feedback on our Segmenation tools and some of the features requested. Time and again we heard similar requests from our customers. Today, we are announcing a new version of Audience Creator, which is now rolling out.
The new Audience Creator adds more granularity to geolocation and you can now also segment customers based on custom attributes. It also captures historical data about how your subscribers move through the website, which will be used to provide insights into their behavior.
Target Subscribers Based in a City or State
This has been one of the most requested features from several of our partners. You can now segment subscribers based in a particular city or region/state. This gives you more control over localization, and also send region-specific notifications. Country level segmentation is still available, we have just added two more levels of granularity to geolocation – Country > Region > City.
The added precision in reaching out to local customers with relevant offers/content would help in reducing unsubscriptions and boost click-through.
Usage:
Just head to Audience Creator from the Dashboard. Create or edit an audience, select City or Region as the parameter and start typing in the Value column. The city or region name will be autopopulated. Select the one you require and that’s it. Your segment has been further refined by the city of the subscriber.
For e.g.: E-Commerce Stores can offer free-shipping to residents of particular cities. Content marketers and blogs/news websites can reach out to locations where their content is more relevant for maximum conversion.
Use Custom Attributes to Reach Specific Subscribers
Using our Attribute API you can add rich data that can help identify various characteristics of your subscribers. Now, you can use these attributes to define audiences and target customers.
Usage:
Head over to the Audience Creator. Select Attributes parameter, write the name and the value of the parameter you want to create a segment for. You can also combine attributes to further refine your segment and reach targer audience.
For e.g.: E-commerce store: Add gender of your customers with attributes and create audiences based on that. This will help in targeting specific offers from the store. Similarly, you can add age, previous purchases, and other attributes to further refine audiences.
Send to Selected Subscribers
You will now see a new option in Send Notifications. Sending to particular subscribers. This requires capturing subscriber IDs using our JS API and then you can add comma-separated Subs IDs to send notifications to specific users.
The product update for December 2017 has already begun rolling out and should be available to all by the end of the month. We would love to hear your feedback on all these features, please shoot a mail to feedback@pushalert.co.
